Donate Books to Support the South Sound Reading Foundation

Here is your chance to clean out those bookshelves and help children in our community!

The Blackhills FC girls '06 (G06) team is organizing a book drive to collect books for the South Sound Reading Foundation during their practices the week of Feb. 3-6. A parent volunteer will be collecting books at the field entrance prior to the start of their practice. Please donate new or gently used books for ages birth through teen. While all kinds of books are apprecited and needed, there is a need for board books for babies.

Drop off dates and locations:

Monday, Feb. 3 at North Thurston High School

Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Olympia High School & Tumwater High School

Wednesday, Feb. 5 at North Thurston High School & Olympia High School

The South Sound Reading Foundation provides over 500,000 free books to children in our community each year. Their purpose is to ensure that all children and families have access to books. They provide books to low-income housing units, schools, after-school programs, and community events to promote reading.
