"Rise and Shine...the Jay Demerit story" is finally finished and screenings are starting soon. Bur first some background, Jay Demerit, USMNT and current Vancouver Whitecaps player, has a great story of his unique road to professional soccer, one that caught the attention of a couple of guys who decided to put in on film. These guy were not movie industry people and so had to use unconventional means to finance the movie. In order to pay for the licensing rights to EPL footage of Jay, the used a website called Kickstarter.com that asks for pledges to help finance the film. They hit their goal and are now trying to market the film and are looking for places for screenings.
The film will be in about 100 theaters nationwide, so we are very lucky that the film will be shown in Seattle on 11/3. It is a true inspirational story about dedication, ambition and passion about soccer.
