Pressure Offense & Agressive Defense Seals Shutout
From the opening whistle the GU14 Red team took it to their opponent this Sunday. Getting the scoring started in the first half was Julia S. when she took a pass from Victoria G. and put the ball in the back right corner of the goal. There were plenty of more shots on goal in the first half. Katie Z. had three and Victoria G. had 1. At the half the score was 1 to nil Black Hills.
In the second half the GU14 Red kept the pressure on offensively. The second goal came on a nice cross from Megan R. to Victoria G. and she put the ball in the back of the net for 2 - nil Black Hills lead.
The last goal of the match came from Karen M. and Megan R., Karen M. hit a shot that the goalie deflected and then Megan R. knocked it into the goal for the score which was the final 3 to nil. Katie Z. had 4 shots on goal in the second half to go with 1 by Victoria G., 2 by Megan R. and 2 by Karen M.
The entire team played well and were very cohesive on offense and tough on defense led by Katie B, Sophia L. and Mary Beth B.. Goalie Rachel scored the shutout for GU14 Red her second in the last three games.
The GU14 Red play their next game against Federal Way. Good Luck Girls!
