Dear friends at DYSA, Blackhills Football Club, Olympia United, Tumwater Soccer Club and all Community Youth Soccer Families:
All of us at Community Youth Services want to thank you sincerely for your generous donation of bags full of coats and blankets. They filled our closet and will help keep teens and young adults warm this winter.
It’s wonderful to see young people willing to give back to the community in which they live, to make an effort to think of others less fortunate than they are. We’re pleased that you chose CYS as the recipient of your clothing drive.
We’re committed to providing a continuum of services that help turn around the lives of at-risk young people. Thank you again and have a wonderful holiday season.

This year considerable media attention has been given to widespread cases of swine flu. Novel H1N1 flu, popularly known as swine flu, is a respiratory infection caused by an influenza virus first recognized in spring 2009. The new virus, which is officially called swine influenza A (H1N1), contains genetic material from human, swine and avian flu viruses. Unlike typical swine flu, H1N1 flu spreads quickly and easily. In June 2009, when the infection's spread had been verified worldwide, the World Health Organization declared H1N1 flu a global pandemic.
Most cases of flu, including human swine flu, need no treatment other than symptom relief. If you have a chronic respiratory disease, your doctor may prescribe additional medication to decrease inflammation, open your airways and help clear lung secretions.
Sensible precautions:
Blackhills FC coaches recommend you follow the precautions and advice of health care professionals. Please take your health and nutrition seriously for the good of yourself and your team.

When Zackery Lystedt collapsed on the football field in October of 2006, players and parents feared it could be the end. Instead, it was only the beginning of a three-year journey towards a landmark piece of legislation that will keep players safer, and healthier, than ever before. Seattle Sounders FC and Washington Youth Soccer have partnered to enhance and expand the youth soccer development system in Washington State. The partnership between Seattle Sounders FC and Washington Youth Soccer on youth development programs will create a system that provides additional levels and avenues to elite play.
The new system will unite the very best avenues to high level soccer through a Regional Training Center (RTC) model that will bring the top players in the state together once a week to train under elite coaches. The RTC system, launching in September 2009, will include 5 locations across the state and will incorporate the top youth clubs in Washington State and upper age group Academy teams. The RTC program is designed to identity the very best players in Washington state across all leagues, affiliations and geographic locations. Therefore, the identification process will be open and comprehensive with the only criteria for invitation being based on player ability.
