INFORMATION FOR ALL PLAYERS

Selection Process

Each age group is observed by a minimum of four evaluators each tryout day. Each evaluator is asked to select from 10 to 14 players given certain criteria. Each player is then given a score based upon the number of evaluators who select them (percentage score). For example, if there were a total of eight evaluators, and six evaluators selected player #5 on their list, that player's score is 75% (6 out of 8). Since two age/gender groups of players are usually being evaluated on different fields at the same time, the exact number of evaluators present during the tryout process may change during the tryout as evaluators move between fields. If a player tries out on more than one day, their final score is the higher of the two scores they will have received. The players are then ranked from highest score to lowest to begin the team assembly process.

Call Backs:

For particularly large player pools call backs will be necessary. Some players will be eliminated based on their score from the tryout process. Players still eligible to make the team may be asked to attend a training session with the coach before the final player selection is made.
